Honoring and serving our veterans – and helping those struggling on their path back to stability and independence – would not be possible without the support of our amazing volunteer network.

Liberty House offers a wide range of volunteer opportunities – whether you are an individual looking to give back to your community, or a group seeking to collectively contribute to a great cause – with the flexibility to get involved around your own schedule, needs and interests!

Clothing and Food Pantry Assistance

Hundreds of local struggling community veterans depend on our food and clothing pantry each month to access essential life needs. We are actively seeking volunteers (individuals or groups) to help sort and organize supplies and donated goods. We also offer opportunities for volunteers to help open and manage the pantry on weekends to help ensure it remains accessible to those in need.

Meal Support

Our residential facility is 24/7, and we are fortunate to have a dedicated cook on staff to meet resident needs during the week. But if you love to cook (and ensure it goes to good use!), we welcome volunteer cooks to deliver meals for residents to enjoy over the weekend.

Volunteers also play a huge role in helping prepare and serve our special holiday meals, such as Thanksgiving and Christmas, both of which are highlights of the year for our veteran community.

Resident/Group Outings

Positive activities are a key part of a veteran’s journey through recovery, and we need volunteers to help make the most of the opportunity for our residents. Whether it’s a trip to the fair, theatre or another recreational activity, volunteers help organize and chaperone trips. And if you know of any other places or types of events we should know about, we welcome your help!

We host several events throughout the year, from our Annual Veterans Day Breakfast to our “Fore the Veterans” Golf Tournament, that play a key role in supporting our program. Volunteers help with setup, takedown and overall coordination of the events.

Volunteer Opportunities Shaped by YOU

One of the unique parts of our volunteer program is that is shaped by our volunteers! In addition to having our regular opportunities, we welcome any thoughts or ideas of how you can lend your interests, expertise and passions to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local veterans. This can include:

  • Arts & crafts
  • Writing
  • Book clubs
  • Journaling
  • Cooking (help preparing resident cookbook)
